Stanley G. Cimmiyotti, age 75, of Sargeant, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Prairie Manor in Blooming Prairie. Stan was born August 13, 1938 in Iowa to Joe and Helen (Fischbach) Cimmiyotti. He married Carol Heimer on August 27, 1961 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. Stan worked at the American Can Company in Austin and he was manager for Sargeant Grain Company. While working there, he met Merle Lund. Those two started up S-M Trucking which he eventually took sole ownership. Stan also owned Sargeant Welding and Machine for many years. For the past 13 years, he worked as a security guard for Securitas in Austin. Stan retired in July 2012. Stan loved flying his own plane, gardening, camping, and fishing with his family. He took many trips to California to visit his grandchildren. One of his favorite events was attending the Air Show in Oshkosh, WI. He spent his spare time working at his shop. Survivors include his wife, Carol Cimmiyotti, Sargeant, MN; children, Kevin (Pam) Cimmiyotti, Vacaville, CA, Kelli Cimmiyotti (Robert Crabtree), Sargeant, MN, Kristal Cimmiyotti (Michael LaVelle), Austin, MN; grandchildren, Tyler Cimmiyotti and Jessica Cimmiyotti, Vacaville, CA, Logan LaVelle, Austin, MN; sisters, Jackie (Paul) Ritter, Charles City, IA, Lois (Kenny) Reuter, Dubuque, IA, Leola Brady, Monticello, IA, Marlys Bade, Roseville, MN; brothers, Ron (Janet) Cimmiyotti, Charles City, IA, Gordy (Sandy Nelson) Cimmiyotti, Stacyville, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents; and an infant granddaughter. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayfield with Father Steve Peterson officiating. Friends may call from 4-7 pm on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Mayer Funeral Home and the family will also greet friends at a luncheon following the service at the church on Tuesday. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Hayfield. A great big thank you to the Prairie Manor staff. You were all so wonderful and caring. Condolences may be left online at www.mayerfh.com
