Marian Hoerter

Marian V. Hoerter, age 92, of Austin, died Sunday, April 14, 2013 at Sacred Heart Care Center where she was a resident. Marian was born February 18, 1921 in Austin to Lloyd and Isabelle (Hunt) Graves. She grew up in Austin where she graduated from high school. Marian was married to Carl Hoerter in August 1948 in Austin. The couple spent their married years both working for and retiring from Hormel. Carl passed away in 1997. Marian enjoyed many craft activities including cake decorating, cross stitch, and quilting. She was also an avid collector of Precious Moments, Hallmark ornaments, and Beanie Babies. Marian and Carl spent their summer months of retirement at their cabin on Portage Lake in Northern Minnesota. She enjoyed her garden and tending to her many hummingbird visitors. Survivors include her step son, Carl (Cindy) Hoerter, Little Falls, MN; son, Daniel (Coleen) Hoerter, Apache Junction, AZ; daughter, Mary Hoerter, Austin, MN; daughter, Joni (Stanley) Williamson, Austin, MN; 10 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Mae Graves, Rochester, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl; brother, James; sister, Babe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at St. Edward's Catholic Church with Father Jim Steffes officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The casket bearers will be Jason Hoerter, Jeff Tobar, Rocky Hoerter, Kenneth Williamson, and Michelle Williamson. Memorials are preferred to Sacred Heart Care Center and St. Mary's Alzheimers Research. Condolences may be left at www.mayerfh.com.
