He was united in marriage to Harriet Heffern on August 15, 1953. Survivors include his stepchildren, Judy (John) Grabau, MN, Marena (Joe) Costello, CO, Bill (Barb) Richards, FL, Sue (Jerry) Ferguson, NY, Gene(Sandra) Heffern, AK, David (Julie) Heffern, IN, Dennis (Pauline) Heffern, NM, nieces Kaye (Duane) Gerber, MN, Pat (Dick) Koenigs) MN, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Graveside services were held Friday, April 18, 2014 at Grandview Cemetery in Austin, MN with Deacon John Kluczny officiating.
