Julie Ann Wiese, 57, of Austin, died suddenly on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Primrose Retirement Community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Julie was born on July 20, 1957. Her parents were Nathan & Margaret (Wackwitz) Wiese of Austin. Julie grew up in the Brownsdale area, attended Queen of Angels Parochial School, Brownsdale Grade School and graduated from Hayfield High School in 1975. Julie also graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree in Child Care from Mankato State in 1977. She held positions at Cedarvale Child Care in Austin, Hiawatha Homes in Rochester, and Primrose Retirement Community in Austin caring for children and adults. Julie was a member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. As a youth, she was very involved in 4-H with the Red Rock Rangers and at the Mower County level. She played an awesome game of softball with the 4-H softball team. Julie was a Hayfield Vikings Vikette, in FHA, GRA, Chorus and played clarinet in the marching and concert band. Survivors include her mother, Margaret Wiese of Austin; sister-in-law, Lisa Place of Owatonna; aunts Delores (Howard) Nielsen of Jackson; Marie Wiese of Austin; Bernice Mahnke of San Mateo, California; Cousins Chris Overfelt of El Granada, California and Jeanne King of San Francisco, California; and many more special cousins who all meant a great deal to Julie. She was preceded in death by her father, Nathan Wiese; her brother, Mark Wiese; her grandparents, and many aunts and uncles and cousins. The celebration of Julie’s life will be at Queen of Angel’s Catholic Church in Austin, at 11 am on Friday, January 2, 2015 with Father Dale Tupper presiding. Visitation with the family is one hour before the service. Memorial’s in Julie’s name may be made to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) or Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
